Catch8
Catch8 Terms of Service
Effective date: 27 October 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms are a contract between you and CRE8TOR Group Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong ("we", "us"). They govern your use of Catch8 on the web, iPhone and Android (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and confirm that you have read our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service for a business, you accept these Terms for that business, and confirm you are authorised to do so.
2. Who may use Catch8
You must be 18 or older, and able to form a binding contract. You must not use the Service if you are barred from doing so by law, or if you are located in a country or region subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as "terrorist supporting", or are listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
3. Your account
• You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with Google on the web and Android. Keep access to your email account secure: anyone who can read your email can sign in as you.
• Each person may own one business in Catch8. You must not create extra accounts to get more free AI reads.
• You are responsible for everything done through your account. Tell us at support@catch8.ai straight away if you think someone else has accessed it.
4. The Service
Catch8 lets you photograph or upload receipts, have them read by AI, and keep simple books: accounts, transactions, invoices, bills, budgets and reports. We may change, add or remove features. If a change materially reduces what a paid plan gives you, we will tell you in advance, and you may cancel.
The Service needs an internet connection. It does not work offline.
5. Your content
• You own your content: the images, records and other material you put into the Service ("Your Content").
• The licence you give us. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transmit, process and display Your Content only as needed to provide the Service to you. This includes sending images to our AI provider to read them, and to comply with law. The licence ends when Your Content is deleted, except for copies in backups and logs until they expire, as described in the Privacy Policy.
• We do not sell Your Content, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
• You confirm that you have the right to upload Your Content, and that recording any other person's personal data in it is lawful. For that data, we act on your instructions as described in the Privacy Policy, §9.
6. AI reading: check the results
Receipts are read by an AI model. The AI can misread a receipt. It can get the amount, date, currency, merchant, tax or category wrong, or miss a line. A receipt the AI is confident about can still be wrong. You must check every result before relying on it. You are responsible for the accuracy of your books.
7. Not professional advice
Catch8 is a record-keeping tool. It is not accounting, tax, legal or financial advice, and it does not prepare or file tax returns. Figures such as profit and loss, runway or budget variance are calculated from what you entered, and are only as accurate as those records. Consult a qualified professional before making decisions based on them.
8. Plans, subscriptions and payment
• Free plan: a limited allowance of records for each company, as shown in the App. Clients, quotations, invoices and sending are included on every plan, Free included. Sending a document by email needs a verified email address. A receipt that could not be read is not filed and does not use a record. When a Free company has used up its records, it is frozen: your existing data stays, and you can still open and export it, but you cannot add new records until you move to a paid plan.
• Pro plan: a paid subscription with the records and features shown in the App at the time you subscribe. We may limit automated, bulk or abusive use that is far beyond normal use by a small business, and we will tell you first.
• Where you buy it decides who bills you. A subscription bought in the iPhone app is sold and billed by Apple. One bought in the Android app is sold and billed by Google. One bought on the web is billed by us through our payment provider, Stripe. Paid plans are currently sold to businesses in Hong Kong, and prices are in Hong Kong dollars. The subscription belongs to your business and applies on all your devices.
• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends (or within the time the store requires). The price, the period and what you get are shown before you buy.
• Cancelling. Manage or cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings or the web billing portal linked from Settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for, and then return to the Free plan. Deleting your Catch8 account does not cancel a store subscription.
• Refunds. Refunds for App Store and Google Play purchases are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies. Ask them, not us. For web purchases, email support@catch8.ai and we will consider each request in good faith. This does not limit any right to a refund you have under the law where you live.
• Price changes. We will give notice of a price change for a subscription as the store or the law requires, and you may cancel before it applies.
• Taxes. Prices may include or add sales taxes as shown at checkout.
9. Acceptable use
You must not:
• use the Service for anything unlawful, including fraud, money laundering, tax evasion or creating false records;
• upload material you have no right to use, or that contains malware;
• try to access another business's data, probe or break our security, or get around plan limits, the read counter or one-business-per-person;
• reverse-engineer, scrape, overload or disrupt the Service, or use automated means to access it, except through features we provide;
• resell or provide the Service to others as your own service;
• use the Service in breach of the terms of the app store you downloaded it from, or of any third-party terms that apply to your use (for example, your mobile data contract).
10. Suspension and termination
• You may stop using the Service at any time, and delete your account in Settings.
• We may suspend or close your account, with notice where reasonable, if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, if the law requires it, or to protect the Service or other users. Where possible, we will give you a chance to export your data first.
• We may end the Service entirely with at least 30 days' notice. We will refund any unused period of a web subscription, and you can ask Apple or Google about store subscriptions.
• After closure, your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy. Sections 5 (for licences already exercised), 7, 12, 13, 14, 16 and 17 survive.
11. Our intellectual property
The Service, its software, design and brand belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the App on devices you own or control, for as long as you have an account. Where you downloaded the App from Apple's App Store, this licence is also subject to the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (see §18).
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI results will be accurate (see §6). Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty or right that cannot be excluded by law, including your rights as a consumer.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
• we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, or for any loss from tax, accounting or business decisions you make using the Service;
• our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim and (b) the monthly price of our lowest-priced paid plan at that time.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
14. Indemnity
If you use the Service for a business, you will compensate us for third-party claims arising from Your Content or your breach of these Terms, to the extent caused by you. This does not apply to consumers where the law does not allow it.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will tell you in the App or by email at least 30 days before it applies. If you keep using the Service after that, the new Terms apply. If you do not agree, you may stop using the Service and delete your account.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the courts of Hong Kong have jurisdiction over any dispute. However, if you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of that country, and you may also bring a claim in the courts where you live. Nothing here removes any right you have under the consumer laws of the European Union, the United Kingdom or any other place that cannot be waived by contract.
Before starting legal proceedings, please contact support@catch8.ai so we can try to resolve the issue.
17. General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If a part is unenforceable, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a right at once, we have not waived it. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them to a successor that takes over the Service, without reducing your rights. Only you, we and (under §18) Apple and its subsidiaries have rights under these Terms. A person who is not a party to these Terms, other than Apple and its subsidiaries under §18, has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance (Cap. 623) to enforce any term of these Terms or to enjoy any benefit under them.
These Terms are published in English, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese. If the versions differ, the English version prevails, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
18. Additional terms for Apple devices
If you downloaded the App from Apple's App Store, these terms also apply:
1. Acknowledgement. These Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the App and its content. These Terms do not set usage rules that conflict with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
2. Scope of licence. Your licence is a non-transferable licence to use the App on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. The App may also be used by other accounts associated with the purchaser through Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
3. Maintenance and support. We are solely responsible for any maintenance and support of the App, as set out in these Terms or as required by law. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the App.
4. Warranty. We are solely responsible for any product warranties, express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses from a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility.
5. Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the App or your possession or use of it, including (i) product liability claims, (ii) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement, and (iii) claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws. These Terms do not limit our liability to you beyond what the law permits.
6. Intellectual property. If a third party claims that the App, or your possession and use of it, infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
7. Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
8. Developer name and contact. Questions, complaints or claims about the App go to: CRE8TOR Group Limited; email support@catch8.ai.
9. Third-party terms. You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the App, for example your mobile data contract.
10. Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept these Terms, Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
